The ARC is Afloat

Did you ever wonder what an ARC "Advance Reading Copy" actually looked like? To be honest, it's really nothing special visually, but it is a tool that publishers use to get the 'drum-beat' rolling.

We recently mailed 30 or so over the past 3-4 weeks... something tells me that we'll be hearing some 'lyrics' being sung shortly.

Cobra Killer has been Released...

Well... from the printer at least.

Shipped last week, the books are on their way to the warehouse now.

After being unpacked and then packed again, they should be shipped from the warehouse to retailers by month's end, which means they'll start arriving the first week of June.

Once the retailer receives them, the process starts all over: unpack... stock... and in some cases, pack and ship again.

Distribution has finally begun.

While We Wait...

A small excerpt from Chapter 2:

When a person dies as a result of a homicide, it is likely his secrets, if any, will soon be revealed. That certainly was the case as investigators probed deeper into the life of Bryan Kocis and the events leading up to his grisly murder.

Summarily dismissed as a “pedophile” by some of his neighbors and even some competitors in the gay porn industry, Kocis was a great deal more complicated than such a pejorative description of him...

Our First Review...

"I was reminded of Truman Capote’s great nonfiction novel, “In Cold Blood” and here is another book in the same tradition."

Perfect Timing?

How nice of Harlow Cuadra to file a post-conviction relief petition in the same month that our book was due to be released - nothing like getting some media coverage for Cobra Killer before we mailed out galleys. There was even a blogger's comment that covered this story which really caught our attention:

"The timing of the appeal and the book's pending release are purely coincidental we're sure. But perhaps Cuadra will get a free copy of the book for helping generate a little publicity."

Coincidental? Yes..

Publicity? Some.

Will Harlow get a free copy of the book? No.

Even though Harlow isn't the book's publicist, his help is certainly appreciated, nonetheless!
