This will be the first of a two-part series, in which Andrew and I will be more than happy to answer just about any question you may have about Cobra Killer.
You'll notice that I said "Part 1"... we will not be answering questions that seek specific details about the content of Cobra Killer - that'll have to wait for "Part 2" - which will be sometime after the book's release in May.
Since it's already been revealed that Andrew interviewed Joe for the book, my GENERAL questions are: Did anything he had to say surprise you? And how would you describe his demeanor? (First question could be for either or both of you, the second would be more for Andrew.)
ReplyDelete"Did anything he had to say surprise you?"
ReplyDeleteIt wouldn't be Joe if he didn't say something surprising. Without going in to specifics, I'd say you'll find a few ‘interesting’ things.
- PC
Well given that he never testified, except for a short statement when he explained why he WOULDN'T testify for Harlow, I guess anything he says would be considered interesting and somewhat surprising. I'm really hoping that he finally tells the whole truth about the murder, since he has nothing left to lose and has no reason to lie at this point.
ReplyDeleteWe'll all know in less than two months. :)
DeleteHi,
DeleteFrom what I read and heard that joe admitted the murder himself that he was going to shift the blame towards Harlow. you got to remember joe control Harlow during their relatioship together and I believe joe did in fact is telling the truth what he admitted. what you think?
Hi Anon,
DeleteGuess we'll know when the book is released. I really can't comment any further on your question/statement at this time, sorry.

DeleteAnon is, I believe, our old friend Nep, a former client of Harlow's and his stalwart defender.
DeleteNep, may I ask where you "read and heard" that Joe admitted he did the actual killing and was going to shift the blame to Harlow? (If that is indeed what you're saying, it's not entirely clear.) In his only public statement to date, he said the exact opposite.
Not that it really matters who did the stabbing and beheading, they're both equally guilty.
Joe was as unpredictable in our face-to-face meeting at the prison as he was at trial. His letters were perhaps more productive than the meeting. There are a lot of details directly from Joe in the book that I think will be of interest to many readers. -- Andrew Stoner
ReplyDeleteDo you believe that Joe was truthful in his interview and is there any type of evidence that supports his version of events ?
ReplyDeleteI am looking forwards to reading this.
Andrew Stoner reply: Joe has settled on a version of events that is consistent with his guilty plea. He had a lot to say about the events ... he is a talkative fellow. I cannot recall, however, that he had any "new" evidence to support his story.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tantalizing information Andrew. I didn't know you had letters from him in addition to the live interview. Should be good reading!
ReplyDelete"There are a lot of details directly from Joe in the book that I think will be of interest to many readers."
That sounds to me, reading between the lines, like you think what he said is credible. I hope it is. As I said before, I'm hoping against hope that he's decided to come clean at this late date.
When PC said he says some "interesting" things, in quotes, I get a sinking feeling that he's going to be shifting the blame from himself not only onto Harlow, but also onto Sean and Grant. That wouldn't surprise me in the least, that was Harlow's tactic in his jailhouse interview. In his brief court statement, Joe seemed concerned above all else that his family not think of him as the one who did the stabbing. My guess is he'll probably also want them to know that NONE of this was his idea, he was duped by the evil masterminds Sean and Grant.
We shall see!
Will,
DeleteI think you'll actually be quite surprised by the amount of information Andrew and I gathered for this book - saying that it'll be a good reading would truly be an understatement.
Ive been corresponding with joe for several years now hearing from him a few times each week via letters and phone chats....he is looking forward to reading the book...(i have already sent him the first chapter from the blog)....another book could without a doubt be written about what has taken place with him while he had been incarcerated
ReplyDeletePeter & Andrew:
ReplyDeleteWhat thoughts, if any, do you guys have about getting your work optioned for a "made for television" movie? You may not be able to provide details, though I'm sure you could provide general thoughts.
I understand Sean's often mentioned, yet very unwritten book "Incorrigible", has been optioned for a movie. I won't tell you my thoughts about that. It does seem that a book about the Cobra Killers might offer so much depth, surrealism, mystery, etc... for a great movie script. The horrific murder, the exposure to the porn world & the warts (non-pun) associated with it, and the psychology of the major players definitely has mass appeal.
Candidly, I don't believe I've experienced anything as sensational as the Cobra Killer in my lifetime. The psychological make-up of the major players is extremely intriguing to me.
Dr. Jeff,
DeleteRight now the main objective is to get our book to print next month (May) - going from print to the silver screen (or small screen) is something we've already prepared for... if and when the need arises - we'll be more than happy to deal with it then.
Your thoughts about the book are spot-on... almost makes me wonder if someone sneaked a copy to you (just kidding)... would love to hear your opinion after reading Cobra Killer.
What is the status of Cobra video ? Is it still a functioning studio ? The website is still up but it appears to be very outdated with no new stuff. I was thinking maybe whatever company hosting the site never got around to shutting it down after the Kocis murder.
ReplyDeleteSince the answer to this topic is covered in the book, I'm afraid I won't be able to offer any insight at this time.
DeleteNo problem I wasn't aware that you covered that area in the book.I have the book pre ordered on Amazon so I will know soon enough!
ReplyDeleteYou sure will, and feel free to ask any questions you may have after reading it.
DeleteThanks for pre-ordering a copy!
Well it's hardly classified information that Cobra is not a "functioning" studio, since it does not produce any new videos and hasn't since Kocis' death.
